An 11-16 start seemed to hinder the Captains ability to strike for a playoff spot this First Half. It appeared the Captains were in a bit of dismay once the Hickory Crawdads left Classic Park with three wins under their belt and left the Captains 4-10 at home.

Many a Captains fan storms into Classic Park eager for a victory, but most people enjoy the entertainment best of all. Seriously now, what could be better than Minor League Baseball promotions and boy do we have a lineup of great events planned this season!

Unbelievable, after venturing to Captainsbaseball.com I noticed that there is only 50 days until the Captains take the field in 2009. The 2008 First Half Northern Division Champions will look to win their first SAL title before traversing to the Midwest League for the 2010 season. With the help of Indians Ink Magazine, I want to make some predictions on who will take the field at Classic Park next season.

I've got to give respect to the Captains Front Office. With the addition of five new staff members, Lake County has the leadership to build a dynasty for years to come.

Are you telling me that the season is starting in only four months? It seems like yesterday the Captains were playing in West Virginia, attempting to win their first South Atlantic League Championship in our brief six year history.
