It's unbelievable that the Captains season moved so quickly. What a fun year for Captains fans as Lake County surged to a 40-30 Second Half record and closed our chapter of South Atlantic League baseball forever.

Fans, I've been working hard in the Front Office trying to find ways to get you in the ballpark and then once you arrive, make sure you have the time of your lives, so it's been a while since my last blog.

This upcoming home stand is extremely important for the Captains faithful. Not only will it contain the finest promotional weekend in recent memory, but the team will be battling it out with the first place Kannapolis Intimidators as we look make a run at the second half division title.

An 11-16 start seemed to hinder the Captains ability to strike for a playoff spot this First Half. It appeared the Captains were in a bit of dismay once the Hickory Crawdads left Classic Park with three wins under their belt and left the Captains 4-10 at home.

Many a Captains fan storms into Classic Park eager for a victory, but most people enjoy the entertainment best of all. Seriously now, what could be better than Minor League Baseball promotions and boy do we have a lineup of great events planned this season!

Unbelievable, after venturing to Captainsbaseball.com I noticed that there is only 50 days until the Captains take the field in 2009. The 2008 First Half Northern Division Champions will look to win their first SAL title before traversing to the Midwest League for the 2010 season. With the help of Indians Ink Magazine, I want to make some predictions on who will take the field at Classic Park next season.
